Formé en 1998 par le tenor saxophoniste David Hillyard, The Rocksteady Seven a sorti 4 albums. Le premier en 1999, "Playtime", suivi quatre ans plus tard par "United Front". En 2007, c'est au tour de "Way out East : Live at The Kassablanca" et enfin en 2009 Get Back UP ! sur le label Brixton Records. Ils étaient à l'affiche du festival Danse Ska La.
